Known for her strong guitar skills, St. Vincent (born Annie Clark) received four nominations for both individual songs and the entirety of her seventh studio album All Born Screaming, released in April of 2024. ABS won Best Alternative Album, “Broken Man” was recognized for Best Rock Song and “Flea” took home the award for Best Alternative Music Performance.

In her acceptance speech, Clark thanked her wife and daughter, musicians who worked on the album, and fans. The news about Clark’s family came to a surprise to some, as she has previously kept much of her personal life under wraps.

St. Vincent has previously won three Grammy Awards. In 2015, she became the first solo female artist to win Best Alternative Album in two decades for her self-titled album St. Vincent. In 2019, she won Best Rock Song for her track “Masseducation” and in 2022, she won Best Alternative Album for Daddy’s Home.

Clark was recently spotted at her brother-in-law’s neighborhood taco spot over the holidays and previously helped serve tacos at Resident Taqueria’s opening in 2017.

“Broken Man” was also nominated for Best Rock Performance, but lost out to “Now and Then” by The Beatles. St. Vincent delivered an impressive performance of the song in June of last year on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

St. Vincent will return to DFW on April 6 for a concert at The Factory in Deep Ellum.
