It’s been robbed on multiple occasions and was the site of a horrific gas-pump murder caught on video. It’s next door to a crime-riddled apartment complex right outside which a man was shot in the face while walking his dog — it’s safe to say that, as is, the 7-11 at Forest Lane at Skillman is a dangerous location.
Now police are seeking two men who robbed the clerk at gunpoint last week.
“The suspect wearing the blue baseball cap pulled a handgun, pointed it at the store clerk, leaned over the counter, and took the till from the cash register,” according to a report from the Dallas Police Department. “The the second suspect waited behind him. Both suspects ran out of the store in an unknown direction. One suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and black pants, the other was wearing a blue baseball cap, black shirt and white shorts.”
Police ask that anyone with information related to the crime call the crimes against persons unit at 214-671-3584 or Crimestoppers at 214-373-TIPS.
Plans to improve safety in this area have been discussed over the years and may begin to come to fruition in conjunction with I-635 and DART improvements.
More to come on those improvements soon.
