Lake Highlands High School has 150 students in their band program, and hundreds more at the junior high and elementary school level. It’s costly to purchase uniforms, lessons and transportation, but director Reagan Brumley is determined to enable every interested student to participate, no matter their parents’ financial situation. That’s why he came up with the idea of a pre-game dinner and auction fundraiser last year.

This year’s event looks to be even better.

Strouderosa BBQ will provide dinner, with brisket and all the trimmings for adults or hot dogs and chips for the kids.

You may order your dinner online here.

Auction items will be as diverse as a Mahjong Party with lessons for up to 8 people, jewelry by renowned local artist Sarah Briggs, family or pet portraits by Robin Jackson Photography, Dallas Mavericks tickets and other cool stuff.

You may view those items here.

The dinner and auction will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thurdsay, Oct. 5 in the LHHS HUB before the home varsity football game between LHHS and Irving MacArthur. It’s Elementary School Night that night, so you can cover dinner, entertainment and community spirit all in one fell swoop.

Can’t make it? The band will gratefully accept your donation here.
