Strouderosa is opening its long awaited restaurant location today in Lake Highlands.
The barbecue restaurant, which started as a meat-smoking catering business a few years ago, is opening in the former BrickHouse Burgers location at 9090 Skillman Street.
Neighbors and Lake Highlands grads Matt and Trisha Stroud began Strouderosa in 2020 after Matt was furloughed. They began smoking meats and holiday meals in a home garage-turned-smokehouse.
The story stretches further than that with the Santa Anna’s Revenge salsa made by Matt’s dad, Don. The logo created for that salsa, three waving jalapeños, is now used for all things Strouderosa.
Stouderosa will open its doors officially to the public at 5 p.m. today. Hours starting Wednesday will be 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.
