The Lake Highlands High School graduate released her seventh studio album, All Born Screaming, in April. The headbanging, industrial-esque compilation headlined by moody tracks like “Flea” and “Broken Man” has been nominated for Best Alternative Album.

The album was well-received critically, earning an average critic rating of 88 on Metacritic, with only one mixed assessment out of 22 critical reviews, and none negative.

“Broken Man,” the first song released as a single from the album, has earned nominations for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. Earlier this year, Clark delivered a rousing performance of “Broken Man” on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “Flea” has been nominated for Best Alternative Music Performance.

St. Vincent has previously won three Grammy Awards. In 2015, she became the first solo female artist to win Best Alternative Album in two decades for her self-titled album St. Vincent. In 2019, she won Best Rock Song for her track “Masseducation” and in 2022, she won Best Alternative Album for Daddy’s Home.

Clark is a 2001 graduate of LHHS and still maintains ties in the area — her brother-in-law owns Resident Taqueria, where she once helped serve tacos following its 2015 opening.

In 2023, Rolling Stone named Clark the 26th best guitarist of all time.

The 67th Grammy Awards show will take place on Feb. 2 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
