National Night Out is an annual event organized by a nonprofit bearing the same name.  The event, falling annually on the first Tuesday of October, is designed to strengthen relationships between community members and the police.

As part of the national initiative, officers from the DPD Northwest Patrol Division, DART Police, Midtown Blues, DISD Police and Texas Health Resources Police will be represented at the Midtown PID’s National Night Out event.

The event will take place at the Vickery Park Branch Library on Oct.1 from 5-8 p.m. It is free to the public. At 6 p.m, there will be a special program honoring the Northwest PD and all public safety professionals. District 13 City Councilmember Gay Donnell Willis, along with PID leadership, will be present.

The library will offer crafts for kids, and live music will be provided by a DJ. Free food will be provided by Back Country BBQ and Monarca Fruteria.

The Vickery Park Branch Library is located at 8333 Park Ln.
