Jessica Loyd
Lake Highlands High School alum Jessica Loyd has been named the new head coach for the girls soccer program. Loyd was a standout on both the Wildcat soccer and basketball teams before graduating and heading off to Baylor University in 2008.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education teaching and coaching, then a master’s in sport and fitness administration, from Baylor, Loyd taught and coached in Waco and Plano before returning to her alma mater last year as assistant coach.
“She is now honored to step into the head coaching role and lead the next generation of Wildcat athletics into a bright and successful future,” said a post on the Lake Highlands Girls Soccer Instagram page.
Loyd will replace Katie Mellus, the new head soccer coach at Ursuline Academy.
