The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden has released its Father’s Day and Juneteenth Family Family Fun Weekend lineup, including an art exhibition, car show and live music.
Running from Saturday through Monday, the event is open to the general public, no membership required.
The Arboretum’s annual Artscape art exhibition is coming back for the weekend, titled “Artscape: The Sequel”. Over 50 artists who were unable to participate in the April exhibition will show off their work in the Pecan Grove. The exhibition will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A petting zoo can also be found at The Pecan Grove from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days.
Behind the Pecan Grove, The Arboretum will host Classic Chassis Car Club for its annual Father’s Day Car Show. The Classic Chassis Car Club is one of the only LGBTQ+ car clubs in DFW. Their exhibition of classic cars will be located behind the Pecan Grove, and will take place on Saturday and Sunday with the same schedule as Artscape.
The weekend will be capped off with a live performance Sunday night from the Emerald City Band, in commemoration of the group’s 40th anniversary. Gates will open at 6 p.m, and the concert will run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The cost of admission to the concert is $30 for the general public, and $25 for members. Food trucks will be on-site for the concert.
