Lake Highlands High School senior Tripp Marshall will be honored tonight by the NFF Gridiron Club of Dallas. He’s one of 40 scholar athletes from North Texas high schools to be recognized for their achievements on and off the football field, along with five standouts from the collegiate ranks. Adam Hochfelder of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football will receive the Distinguished Texan Award.
During his senior year playing wide receiver for the Wildcats, Marshall had 24 receptions, 502 yards and six touchdowns. He received first team all-district honors while earning a 4.2 GPA in the classroom. His game-winning catch against Richardson High in October was the walk-off score which resulted in LH’s 28-21 win in overtime. He’ll play for the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the fall.
The Gridiron Club of Dallas is the North Texas chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Five of the 40 honorees will be recognized with special awards and scholarships, and one will receive national recognition as a member of the NFF Team of Distinction.
Congratulations, Tripp.
