Picasso’s Pizza was a longtime fixture when the first location opened in our neighborhood in the 90s. Then it closed during the pandemic.

This isn’t the end of Picasso’s saga, though, because now there’s a spinoff concept called Andrew’s.

The menu at this new pizza restaurant will feature all styles and flavors of pizza, including Dallas, Chicago, Detroit and tavern style pizzas. Andrew’s will be located in Plano at 1401 Preston Road.

Owner Andrew Albert bought Picasso’s in 1993 after serving as a pizza delivery guy there for a few years. Alongside his wife and son, the Alberts were aiming to give the restaurant a makeover with better ingredients and a revamped menu and decor.

Then it closed its Walnut Hill and Skillman location at the early part of 2020. The current space is still vacant, but it’s slated to become Lake Highland’s second Jake’s Gameday location in November. The first Gameday recently opened at Plano Road and Northwest Highway.
