Recent visitors to Medallion Center have probably seen the many signs of construction: stacks of materials in the parking lot, crews operating heavy machinery, temporary business signs on the facade.
There’s a lot going on, but it’s all expected to be finished February 2023. There will be a newly raised facade, improved signage and new lighting.
As far as the retailers, here’s what we know:
The former Pier 1 space is being torn down, and Summit Salons will be opening early next year. It will be the first Texas location for the Colorado-based salon company.
Pet Supplies Plus should open by early August, though it could be sooner.
Skin & Body Co. is now open.
Salata is still under construction in the former Fish Bone Grill spot, and it is expected to open in September.
Medallion Center has a long history in our neighborhood. The shopping center, which is managed and leased by Venture Commercial, dates back to 1962. W. W. Caruth Jr. was the mastermind behind the development, and the shopping center is still owned by the Caruth family.
