Texas Women’s Foundation held its annual Leadership Forum and Awards Celebration on Apr. 26 and honored seven women and raised more than $600,000.
The awards celebration was held both in-person and online. Radha Agrawal, an author, co-founder, CEO and chief community architect of Daybreaker was keynote speaker for the night.
“As we strive to meet the moment where we are all navigating various forms of a ‘return,’ we offered it as an in-person and online event and added an afternoon of forums from the seven honorees,” President and CEO of Texas Women’s Foundation Miki Woodard said in a statement.
Guests attended afternoon breakout sessions, and Fiddler Duo June Blount played songs as everyone moved to their seats.
Award selection co-chairs, Hilda Galvan and Brenda Jackson, presented five women with the Maura Women Helping Women Award. Here were the recipients:
Patricia Rodriguez Christian- of CRC Group Inc.
Dr. Arlene Ford- of the Equity Inquiry Project Inc.
Pat Jasso- San Antonio retired AT&T Manager and Senior Planet
Lynn McBee- CEO of Young Women’s Preparatory Network
Thana Simmons- of Viola’s House
The following two women received the Young Leader Award:
Stacy Johnson- founder of Central Texas Table of Grace in Round Rock
Sharareh Kermanshachi- associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and director of the Resilient Infrastructure and Sustainable Environment Lab
The event was held at the Dallas Omni Hotel and presented by AT&T.
