Those at the center of Northeast Dallas’ Forest Park Medical Center’s financial debacle predict most of the up-in-the-air problems will be resolved by mid-2016, according to a story in the Dallas Business Journal. They cannot say whether the system will remain intact or go to multiple acquirers. Reporter Bill Hethcock, who has been covering the Forest Park story for the Journal notes that poor management and governmental changes to the healthcare system contributed to the institute’s collapse.
“In essence, Forest Park financially was a fancy house of cards sitting on a rickety card table,” he writes. “The Affordable Care Act — Obamacare — merely bumped the table.” Full story continued …
