Often we have bragged about the celebrities and successes produced by Lake Highlands and Lake Highlands High School. Mark Salling, who starred in the hit TV show “Glee” was one of our neighborhood’s proudest sons, but he recently has run afoul of the law. Today he is up against one of the most shameful charges a person can face — possession of child pornography.
The show Crime Watch Daily reports that Los Angeles police Tuesday charged Salling with possession of child pornography, arrested him and set his bond at $20,000 after the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit served a search warrant at his California home. He is now out on bail.
Salling’s parents still live in Lake Highlands.
Crime Watch Daily reports that a source told them that hundreds of images were discovered on Salling’s personal devices. Authorities confiscated his computers and phones and the search will continue.
In 2013, Salling settled a $2.7 million lawsuit in a sexual battery case.
When police began investigating the child porn tip there reportedly was concern that the allegations were part of a revenge plot.
Police tell Crime Watch Daily that the tipster was not the same woman who sued Salling in 2013.
Extra TV show reports that a different ex-girlfriend reported the child pornography.
