The Lake Highlands area choirs will perform in the high school’s newly renovated auditorium Thursday, October 17. The annual Fall Concert will be the first performance in the refurbished hall.
“Each choir will give just a quick sample of the songs that we have been working on to begin our singing together this school year,” said Kari Gilbertson, who heads up the LHHS choral department. “And, as always, we will end with our moving and patriotic mass choir performing God Bless America.”
The show will feature the Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Choirs from Forest Meadow Junior High, LHJH, LHFC and LHHS.
“I’ve been a part of this concert for 15 years,” continued Gilbertson, who led the Forest Meadow choir before moving to the high school upon Michael O’Hern’s retirement last year. “This year, it seems brand new. A new school, new co-workers, new choirs, and a brand new auditorium. I’m so excited to see and hear everyone!”
Construction delays pushed back the date of the performance, but crews have now given assurances that the hall will be ready.
Says Gilbertson, “It will be worth the wait!”
The show is free, and the curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m.
