After a successful campaign, members of the Lake Highlands High School football team are raking in all-district honors.
The team finished the season with a 10-2 record, going undefeated against UIL District 7-6A opponents as district champions. In the playoffs, the team got off to a fast start in the first round against South Grand Prairie with a 27-0 shutout before falling to Coppell in the area final.
Post-season accolades have been shared by the team’s X account in recent days. Third-year Coach Cory Campbell’s coaching staff was named coaching staff of the year, and several players won district-wide awards.
Linebacker Ryan Schirato has been named District 7-6A Defensive Player of the Year, and star junior running back Christian Rhodes was named Offensive Newcomer of the Year. Cornerback Holden Layne won Sophomore of the Year.
