With no warning, one of my go-to en-route-to-work gas stations — the Skillman-Abrams 7-11 is closed and boarded up. Gone.
The 7-11 has gone the way of other area entities such as Tom Thumb and Siegel’s. The gas station just north of that space, incidentally, closed for a while, then reopened.
Last April a Morning News business blogger reported the closings of some 40 7-11s around Dallas, due to prohibitively small lots or buildings as the company aims to remodel and expand. This particular location, however, wasn’t on the list of anticipated closings.
No word on what might replace the store. The property is right across the street from Jakes Hamburgers and kitty corner from Super Target.
