The the Lake Highlands Highlandettes host their annual garage sale Saturday. The team fundraiser features furniture, housewares, electronics, sporting goods and other cast offs from more than 50 LH families. The Bath House Cultural Center tonight launches a new play,
“Jailbait,” by Deidre O’Connor, running until Aug. 31. It’s a witty play that takes place over the course of a dizzying night at a club and follows the parallel journey of two fifteen-year-old girls and two thirty-something men. When the unlikely foursome collides, they discover “surprising and dangerous compatibilities,” the website summary says. Ticket prices $10-$20. Buy tickets online.
This Saturday, Miracle Players Foundation is hosting its third annual Peace, Hope & Butterflies event at Flag Pole Hill. The event was rained out on June 1 and got pushed to August 24 instead, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature music from up-and-coming Dallas bands and loads of activities to raise funding for research at Children’s Medical Center. There will be a petting zoo, an obstacle course, a pirate ship, arts and crafts, a giant slide, and the event will culminate in the release of 500 butterflies by Dallas area childhood cancer warriors. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children.
