After college, an incredible number of Lake Highlands High School graduates pick Lake Highlands as the place to live and raise their families.

Following a 10-year side trip in Del Ray Beach, Fla., Rebekah Green Watson (’76) and husband Chuck Watson (’77) have moved home to Lake Highlands.

The Watsons have three children. Their 7-year-old is happily attending Northlake Elementary. After the first day of school, she excitedly reported how the principal had personally opened her drink at lunch.

You’ll remember Rebekah for some of the large art she did around the school at the time – football players crashed through them at the beginning of the game. (I always worry about some tragedy happening at that point when the teams run onto the field, and if any of you were in College Station at the A&M Consolidated game last month, you know what I mean. Did you see the pile-up when the guys ran through that smoke onto the field? There was a collective sigh of relief from both stands when all of our opponents picked themselves off the turf and moved to the sidelines.)

Rebekah’s brother, Mark Green (’78), is living in Colorado where he works for Carter and Burgess. He hasn’t moved home to Lake Highlands yet, but his company is one of the major contractors for Dallas’ DART rail.

Parents Charlie and Delores Watson and Madge and Jimmie Green all still live in Lake Highlands.
