Construction has barely started on the new Forest Green Library in Lake Highlands, but another public library is making rapid progress in Vickery Meadow.
The $8 million project on Park Lane near Greenville Avenue will be an 18,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility with space for classes and community meetings. A youth center, funded by a $752,000 grant from the Crystal Charity Ball, will include STEM kits, gaming systems and coding classes. A children’s play area will be paid for using $254,000 in city park funds.
You can check out progress on the project here. The library is scheduled to open in 2021.
