Desmond Roland runs against Iowa State
Lake Highlands 2011 graduate Desmond Roland was the darling of Bedlam Saturday, scoring two touchdowns for Oklahoma State against rival Oklahoma University. Roland rushed 18 times for 68 yards in their traditional season-ending match, termed “Bedlam” by our neighbors to the north. OSU kicked a field goal in overtime to win 38-35.
The Cowboys, who improved their record with the win to 6-6, were invited Sunday to play the University of Washington (8-5) in the Cactus Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona on January 2. Roland was on the 2011 team which won the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.
“I love Arizona,” Roland told NewsOK, “I love the weather. I love everything about Arizona.”
