Lake Highlands High mounted a rip-roaring comeback Friday to defeat El Paso Eastlake in the soccer playoffs and claim the regional semifinal championship. The Wildcats will play Allen today/Saturday at noon at McKinney ISD Stadium for a chance to compete in the state tournament.
Eastlake led 1-0 at the half, but the indomitable Wildcats came alive at the second kickoff. Kerry Najera, Mitch Williams and Evan Bernhard, all juniors, each scored, while senior keeper Noah Smith stayed busy as sentinel fending off shots on goal.
