At least 95 people were killed along the Guadalupe River in Central Texas after heavy rain on July 4 caused the river to rise 26 feet in less than 45 minutes, CBS News reported.

In response, a blood drive has been organized at Lake Highlands North Rec Center. The drive will take place on July 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Two spots are still available as of press time. Childcare will be available during the drive, organizers said.

Among those killed were 27 counselors and campers from Camp Mystic, the camp wrote in a statement. The Christian girls’ camp was hosting a large number of campers from Dallas-Fort Worth.

Current and former Camp Mystic families have also been invited to a vigil at Southern Methodist University tonight. While organizers wrote “the outpouring of love and support from everyone has been so appreciated and comforting,” they also asked the public to respect the event as a place for the Camp Mystic community to heal and be together at this difficult time.
