Cane Rosso, which translates to ‘Red Dog,’ has unveiled two special foot-long hot dogs for the Fourth of July.
The Neapolitan-style pizza brand has rolled out lengthy links in the past, including an off-menu ‘Honey Bastard’ dog, served in the style of the eponymous Cane Rosso Pizza. It is topped with soppressata, bacon marmalade and habanero honey. That dog will make a return this Fourth of July weekend, as will a mustard-drizzled split link topped with onions and other vegetables.
The ‘Honey Bastard’ dog and the new addition both come on a special bun. After all, it’s a pizza place, so it’s only fitting that both are served on pizza crust shaped in the style of a classic bun. Both dogs will be available from July 2 to July 6 at all Cane Rosso locations.
July specials were also recently announced by the brand. Drawing inspiration from a Vietnamese comfort food special, the ‘Pho Around and Find Out’ pizza ($19) comes with pho-spiced pizza sauce, mozzarella, brisket, Vietnamese meatballs, hoisin, bean sprouts and sriracha. For pasta, the July special is a lemon-wine sauce orecchiette with sausage ($16).
From the bar, July’s monthly cocktail is the ‘Lockwood Gold Rush,’ which comes with Lockwood Brewing Co. blended whiskey, honey and mint.
Cane Rosso’s Lake Highlands location will be open for regular business hours on July 4.
The Lake Highlands location opened last year at the Lake Highlands Town Center in a space formerly occupied by Taco Diner. Side Hustle, a PILF Group (Cane Rosso’s parent company) ghost kitchen concept focused on burgers, also operated out of the space initially. It is now listed as temporarily closed on DoorDash.
Cane Rosso Lake Highlands is located at 7150 Skillman St #190
