The city’s budgeting process typically begins in the spring, with a final budget adopted in early fall. As part of the process, council members typically hold a series of community meetings to gather resident input and feedback.

Planned for March 24 at 5:30 p.m, the first meeting will be held at the Willie B. Johnson Recreation Center off Forest Lane. In addition to Stewart, District 11 Council Member Jaynie Schultz, who is not seeking reelection, will join the meeting alongside other District 11 neighbors. A second and final meeting will be held virtually on March 27 at 6 p.m. The link to the meeting can be found on the city’s website

Stewart is also hosting a community meeting on March 19 to discuss traffic safety on Abrams Road, which has come under scrutiny in recent months. She is currently running against two other candidates for reelection in May.
