LHHS girls soccer team defeats RHS to clinch the district title
Lake Highlands High School defeated Richardson 4-0 Tuesday night to clinch the girls district soccer title. The team made it to the regional quarterfinals last year, but this is the Lady Wildcats’ first district championship since 2011.
“It was a hard-fought title that they have truly earned through grit and effort,” praised Head Coach Katie Mellus. “(Lake Highlands Girls Soccer) has one more game against Irving and then it is on to PLAYOFFS!!”
Friday’s match to end the regular season will kick off at 7:15 p.m. at Irving High School’s Ellis Stadium, 600 East 6th Street. Playoffs will begin after Spring Break. Go Cats.
