La Casita Coffee, the new coffee/pastry shop that opened in Half Price Books in August, has begun serving cocktails.
Chef-owner Maricsa Trejo told The Advocate earlier this year that a cocktail menu was coming as soon as permitting would allow. The coffee shop’s Instagram announced the arrival of the menu yesterday. The drinks are available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday for dine-in service only.
Headlined by micheladas and tequila drinks, the selection reflects La Casita’s roots and influences. Prices vary from $9 for the michelada to $13 for the “Dinero Mojado,” a coffee drink made with dark rum, fruit and coconut cream. The coffee’s influence is felt further with the mango coffee spritz, a concoction of sparkling wine, coffee-infused aperitivo and mango liqueur.
Full-service breakfast was recently added, and the new cocktail menu includes a bloody mary and mimosas to match. The drinks have plenty of infused ingredients as well. The “Primo Hermano” is made with ancho and smoked tea-infused tequila, ginger and lime, and the “Mas Y Menos” brings together honey, grapefruit and chamomile-infused bourbon.
According to the Instagram announcement, the full Tiki bar and dinner service is coming soon.
La Casita Coffee is located at 5803 E Northwest Hwy.
