Even though it may not feel like it, the autumnal equinox — falling on Sep. 22, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac — is upon us. To celebrate the arrival of fall, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is rolling out its fall sights and programs this Saturday, Sept. 21.
If you’ve been to the Arboretum in the past couple of days, you may have noticed the pumpkins — hailing from the state pumpkin capital of Floydada in West Texas — on display. However, this Saturday will mark the return of the Pumpkin Village, gourd patches, Texas Town and more.
Autumn at the Arboretum runs from Sept. 21. This is the 19th annual Autumn at the Arboretum.
The Pumpkin Village features structures made of pumpkins, mazes and other pumpkin-related creations. The theme for this year is Texas Town. The section will feature a collection of Pioneer-era pumpkin dwellings designed to immerse visitors in the time.
Also, if you have any pumpkin-related questions, Arboretum staff will be on hand for a pumpkin Q&A at the pumpkin patch every Thursday beginning at 1:30 p.m.
For the first time ever, guests can also experience Autumn at the Arboretum at night. On select nights, craft beer and wine will be available in the Pumpkin Village from Gil’s Elegant Catering. More information can be found here.
