North Texas Giving Day is this Thursday, and one local nonprofit organization will match up to $22,000 in donations this year.

Taking place each year in September, North Texas Giving Day is a major online fundraiser which raises tens of millions of dollars for hundreds of area nonprofits each year. Organized by Communities Foundation of Texas, the annual event raised $60 million in donations last year from close to 100,00 donors.
Forerunner Mentoring, a Lake Highlands faith-based mentoring program which provides male mentors for male youth from fatherless homes, is participating in NTGD. An anonymous sponsor will match all donations up to $22,000. The nonprofit has set a campaign goal of $70,000, which would be used for van maintenance, afterschool snacks, family relief, family dinners and mom’s nights.
While North Texas Giving Day falls on Sept. 19 this year, donations have been open for an early giving period since the start of the month. More information can be found here.
