Alamo Drafthouse Cinema announced opening dates for all five formerly shuttered DFW locations earlier this morning, including Lake Highlands.
Having closed in early June due to the bankruptcy proceedings of its franchise operator, the Lake Highlands location will reopen on Aug 13, the chain announced.Â
The theater chain, which specializes in themed movie presentations and large menu offerings, was bought by Sony Pictures Experiences, a subsidiary of the Sony Corporation Group, shortly after the closures in June. Alamo announced the reopening of five DFW theaters and one Twin Cities location a few weeks later.
There will be a soft opening for two weeks following the reopening, featuring $5 tickets and 25% off select menu items. Those who purchased tickets before the closures will receive a free rain check ticket.
The Lake Highlands location will host a hiring fair for former employees on July 23. The chain said that it will compensate former employees for lost wages and give them priority in interviews.
