One topic is the potential authorization of a lease agreement to move the Juvenile Probation Department of District 2, which covers parts of Richardson and North Dallas, to a new space in Vickery Meadow. If approved, the department could move to 8330 Meadow Road, which will provide more space and “alleviate inefficiencies” that the current location has. If the lease is approved, it is set to start Dec. 1, 2023 and expire on March 1, 2034.

Another topic that will be discussed is approving a funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation that would improve trail infrastructure at the border of Lake Highlands and Richardson. There will be off-street trail upgrades spanning 1.4 miles, connecting the current Central Trail at Buckingham Road to the sidewalks west of the Dallas College Richland Campus and an improved DART rail crossing on Buckingham Road for cyclists and pedestrians. Nearly $6.5 million from TxDOT, around $1.4 million from Dallas County, about $1.3 million from the Regional Transportation Council and $475,000 from the city of Richardson will all be used for the project, according to county documents.

The court will meet at 9 a.m. at 500 Elm St. The meeting can be watched in-person or online on the county’s website.
