Dallas Fire-Rescue responded just after 7 p.m. to a 911 call in the 12200 block of Schroeder Road near Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet elementary school. When firefighters arrived at the one-story residence, they found smoke pouring from the front windows.

The neighbor alerted first-arriving companies that he’d already attempted to go into the house because occupants were still inside. Firefighters made their way in to conduct search and rescue operations and found the woman’s lifeless body. They pronounced her dead at the scene. They pulled the man from the house and administered CPR. He was transported to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition with serious burns, sources say.

The identity of the victims was not disclosed by Dallas Fire-Rescue. No other occupants were in the house at the time of the fire, and no other injuries were reported in association with the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
