The play is based on the original television special produced and directed by Bill Melendez and Lee Mendelson.

When organizing this production, it was crucial to the theater to stay true to the original book and television special, according to a press release by Dallas Children’s Theater.

“All the same Peanuts characters from the book and the television special are in the show,” said K. Dough Miller, director of A Charlie Brown Christmas and musical theater conservatory director at Dallas Children’s Theater. “We wanted it to be as familiar as possible for our audience members who grew up watching the special, reminding them of the classic story they loved while still being entertaining for new viewers.”

Miller also directed the same show in 2016 and 2017.

Before the show, performers are keeping audiences engaged with performances and Christmas carol sing-alongs. Santa will be there to greet attendees.

Tickets are available to purchase online, ranging from $26- $57.

The Dallas Children’s Theater focuses on making live theater accessible for all. Professional actors perform for children and their families throughout the year. It is the only major organization that focuses only on youth and family theater, according to a press release by Dallas Children’s Theater.
