1. Neon Paint Party at The Villages of Lake Highlands Nursing Home
The Villages of Lake Highlands is opening up the nursing home to the public to paint the night away at the 80s-themed Neon Paint Party happening on September 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
It’s not your typical nursing home event; the event brings together people of all ages for themed fun, inviting the public to gather their neon gear, leg warmers and headbands. Paint is provided and the event is free. Reservations can be made online.
2. White Rock Lake Ruck
The DFW Rucking Crew and Team RWB are hosting a weekly ruck starting on September 16 at 8 a.m.
The event starts and ends at the White Rock Alehouse. The event is free and reservations can be made online.
The ruck lasts about an hour and is about 3-4 miles long.
Breakfast tacos are being offered after the event at Taco Joint on Mockingbird.
3. Hausfest
Hausfest is the 4th annual Oktoberfest in Lake Highlands.
The event takes place on October 7 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Vector Brewing.
There will be many activities including live music, food stands, drinks and the Stein Hoisting Contest.
There will be a live performance by the Oom-pah Daddies from 6-9 p.m. at the Biergarten outdoor patio.
