Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church is hosting a five day celebration of local artists, from September 11-15. A specially curated collection of artwork will be displayed, open for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Kicking off the event on Monday, September 11, the featured artists are scheduled to speak on what motivates and inspires them. The talk is open to the public, starting at 2:30 p.m.

The next three days of the celebration will offer art classes covering a wide range of artistic niches. The classes are free and open to anyone at any skill level. Donations are accepted, but not required.

Water marbling – Tuesday, September 12, 2:30 p.m.

Fabric painting – Wednesday, September 13, 2:30 p.m.

Mastering the monoprint – Thursday, September 14, 2:30 p.m.

The event will conclude on Friday, September 15, with a dinner and silent auction. The auction will include new items and commission sessions from the featured artists as well as specially curated gift baskets. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door, priced at $15 for one person, $25 for a couple and $30 for families of three or more.

All proceeds will be split between the church’s child development center and the Gifford Fund, a program that financially assists people with rent, utilities and basic necessities.
