All players and all skill levels are welcome, and tournament details are available here. Cards fly at 2 p.m., with a dinner break at 5. Your fee of $100 includes entry in the tournament plus a barbecue dinner of brisket, pulled pork and sausage smoked by neighbor and Skyview supporter Randy Norman. Spectators may pay $60, which includes dinner and open bar. For $40, supporters may come for dinner and a drink at the 5 p.m. serving time.

Skyview serves more than 700 children in the Forest Meadow/Town Creek neighborhoods. The Pre-K program at Little Sky has approximately 140 scholars, and Big Sky has more than 560 K-6 scholars. Skyview is a Title I school, and 93% of the students live at or below the poverty line. Over the last several years, the parent-led PTA has funded, implemented and supported activities including literacy initiatives, positive behavior incentives, a gymnasium projection screen, school supplies, coat and book drives, teacher appreciation meals and treats, parent and family engagement, technology improvements, the Skyview Harmony Garden, a translation program and an electronic marquee. Funds raised this year will pay for a GaGa Ball Pit to encourage movement at PE and recess and fund a trip to AT&T Stadium for students in grades 3-6 who improve their individual reading scores.

Organizer Craig Cislo can answer questions at craig.cislo@gmail.com or 469-400-4836. Skyview is at 9229 Meadowknoll, and Katrina Collins is the beloved principal there. Oak Highlands Brewery is at 10484 Brockwood. You may sign up online here.
