The space has been vacant since Picasso’s closed in 2020, but it’s recently been revived with the new tenant. We announced the plans for the new Jakes concept in July.

The latest of the Jakes Gameday burger and sports bar restaurant to open is located at Walnut Hill and Skillman. The first location opened on Northwest Highway and Plano Road a few months ago and the second is in Plano.

Jakes and Jakes Gameday are locally owned, with a number of Lake Highlands High School graduates in the ownership group.

“We are so excited about this newest location,” said Kendra Shier, VP of Operations for Jakes. “The build-out is spectacular and it is the perfect place for families with kids, or just grabbing some food and watching the game with friends. We have TVs everywhere. It’s easily the nicest bar in Lake Highlands, has an awesome patio and has a big arcade room for kids. We are ecstatic to further expand our footprint in Lake Highlands and look forward to serving the LH community for years to come!”

Jakes Gameday hours of operation are 11 a.m.- midnight Monday – Sunday for dine-in and carry out.
