Beyond recording hits like “That’s What I Love About Sunday” and “Redneck Yacht Club,” Morgan served for over nine years in the U.S. Army. In his memoir, Morgan details some of his work in the military, including an undercover assignment to fight sex trafficking in Thailand and work with the CIA in Panama.

At other points in the book, Morgan describes the path that led him to music, including the odd jobs he worked while trying to break into the industry. He also writes about the inspiration behind some of his most famous songs, including “The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost,” which was written about his son, Jerry, who died at 19 years old.

At the event tomorrow, Morgan will sign a copy of his memoir and one non-book item for each attendee. Tickets, which include a copy of God, Family, Country, must be purchased in advance. Half Price Books is located at 5803 E Northwest Highway. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
