The organization is collaborating with United Methodist for the “A Better You” education program as part of a national initiative aimed at improving health literacy. The program will be free and open to the public from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and includes a lunch.

Attendees will learn about the basics of Medicare – including the different parts of the program, eligibility requirements, and enrollment windows – to help them make informed health care coverage decisions.

Reverend Telley Lynnette Gadson and Rita Tolbert, of UnitedHealthcare, will be featured speakers and discuss the importance of healthy living and Medicare for adults 60 and older. Gadson is the Hartsville District Superintendent in South Carolina. She will share her experience with obesity and weight loss journey with attendees.

Tolbert will facilitate the Medicare education portion of events.
