Cookie Plug, the colorful sweet shop with the hip hop vibe, is headed to Lake Highlands. Contractors are currently working to ready their new spot at Skillman and Walnut Hill between Mi Cocina and Jake’s Gameday, coming soon to the former Picasso’s Pizza endcap. A grand opening is planned for early September.
Cookie Plug features thick cookies which may be purchased on site, ordered online and/or delivered locally. The national franchise currently has more than 20 locations operating in California, with more stores planned in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and throughout Texas.
According to Urban Dictionary, a “plug” is someone used as a resource for obtaining something valuable that would otherwise be difficult to obtain. The person who plugs you in or hooks you up with delicious cookies, for instance. Now you can run with the cool kids.
Patrons looking for an afternoon treat or planning a party can always order their O.G. with chocolate chips, but why stop there? The Bam Bam has colorful cereal (think Fruity Pebbles), and the Mac Daddy features white chocolate and macadamia nuts. The Pink Elephant is modeled after strawberry cheesecake, and the Firecracker resembles a s’more with chocolate chips and gooey marshmallows. Yum.
