Last month, we shared that our very own 1999 Lake Highlands High School grad, Jamila Tyson, is competing to be the next ‘Ms. Health and Fitness.’
The title would include a feature on the cover of Muscle & Fitness Hers Magazine and $20,000 in cash. Now, Tyson has made it to the top 10 finalists and holds the no. 1 spot so far.
Tyson shared the news in a Facebook post when she held second place. In another post, she shared that claiming the title of ‘Ms. Health & Fitness’ would help her expand her coaching business.
“This will open more doors for me to expand my Health Coaching business and continue to sow seeds into other women’s lives, especially moms, spreading the many benefits of health and wellness and offering tools and simple action plans for busy moms to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle!”
Voting is still open for the top five finalists and ends this Thursday at 7 p.m.. More on that can be found here.
