Ingrid Quiroz and her fiancé, Sneyder Jimenez, started The Party On The Yard for yard games and party planning services to connect community and celebration.
The Party On The Yard is a minority-owned small business, which the couple started shortly after moving to Lake Highlands from Oak Lawn in 2021. They are flexible with party size, whether big or small, and lend their services out for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and more.
“Most of the parties that we’ve planned have been very intimate, especially since we launched in 2021” Quiroz says. “There was still not a big splash whenever it came back to celebration.
During that time, around graduation season, indoor parties still weren’t making as big of a comeback.
“There weren’t a lot of people that did a lot of parties or weddings inside. That’s why we started to really hone in on The Party On The Yard, because a lot of people were transitioning to celebrating outdoors.”
The team is family. It not only consists of Quiroz and Jimenez but includes Quiroz’s sister, Karen Quiroz. Quiroz serves as operations director, Karen is creative designer and handles party planning, and Jimenez is tech and web operations specialist and handles the website.
Quiroz and Jimenez’s dog, Luna, also chimes in to help.
“Our dog Luna, she’s always up to greet customers and clients. She waits in the car while we unload and all that,” she says.
Some of the yard game rentals available for parties include jumbo Jenga, jumbo Connect Four, corn hole and yard pong.
Quiroz, a 2014 graduate of UT Austin, also owns her PR and marketing agency called Quiroz & Co.. She says her 11 years experience in PR has helped her with party planning.
“Being new, we wanted to meet other people across Lake Highlands since it’s such a big neighborhood to rally up,” she says. “I think this was a really great opportunity for us to connect with them.”
