Vector Brewing earned awards, hosted concerts and celebrated engagements over their first two years at Lakeridge, but owners Veronica and Craig Bradley say the biggest party yet will be their Second Anniversary all day soiree April 2.
The fun begins on the Vector patio with an artisans’ market from 11 til 4. Vendors will offer jewelry, clothing, barbecue sauce, sweets and CBD goods from more than 20 local vendors. Inside, head brewer Tomas Gutierrez will be pouring more than 20 of his finest concoctions, including rare barrel-aged beers from Vector’s own cellar. Some have been aging since before Vector opened – with just this anniversary in mind.
In the back parking lot, guest food vendors Resident Taqueria, Double M Barbecue and Twizel Ice Cream will be serving delicious treats. Live music will be playing all day on the patio, beginning with Balken Brass ensemble Baba Yaga Orkestar at noon. The LAB (Lakewood Area Band) shows up at 4, and Lake Highlands’ own DJ Binosaur takes the mic at 7.
“When Vector Brewing opened in the spring of 2020, customers couldn’t come inside,” says Veronica, noting the timing of her young family’s new business and the way they changed their business strategy and space to accommodate the early days of Covid-19. To-go service and packaged beer became the focus in those first few months.
“We all stood in a circle and held hands,” recalls Veronica. “I think there were only seven of us – nine if you include our children. And we had no idea what to expect.”
Veronica says many things have changed since they opened two years ago – then things changed and changed again.
“Things are starting to feel normal – whatever that is – and that’s cause for celebration.”
