The NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament started this week, and one of our former neighbors is participating.
Lado Laku, a 6’10” sophomore forward from Cal State Fullerton University, attended Lake Highlands High School.
A transfer from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Laku has played in 18 games and averages 1.8 points and 0.8 rebounds.
Cal State, a No. 15 seed team, is scheduled to play the No. 2 seed team of Duke University at South Carolina. This is Cal State’s second NCAA tournament in five years.
Cal State’s next game will be against Duke on Mar. 18.
Laku was an all-state, all-league and all-district player on the Lake Highlands basketball team under Joe Duffield’s coaching.
