In spite of massive book bans across Texas school districts, Richardson ISD Interim Superintendent Tabitha Branum expands the district’s focus on reading and language arts this month.
In a new “Keeping Tabs” video, Branum visits several pre-K through 12th grade language arts classrooms to talk with and observe students and teachers. Third grade is one of the main grade levels for reading that the district seeks to improve.
Branum also advocates parents continue to support reading literacy at home with their children.
“In the early grades, reading aloud together is always a great way to reinforce the teaching and learning happening at school. This can be extended at the secondary level, too,” Branum said.
Each month, there will be a focus on a different area of curriculum. Watch the video below for more details about this month’s curriculum focus.
