If it’s been a while since you’ve seen a delightful school musical, you won’t want to miss Singin’ in the Rain this weekend at Lake Highlands High School.
The Hollywood film starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’Connor will mark its 70th anniversary in 2022, and students in LHHS’ fine arts department are celebrating with a performance in the classic Broadway style. More than 100 students have been working since October – singing, dancing, acting, creating the technical elements and playing in the live orchestra.
Sparkling flappers and tap dancers will keep you bouncing in your seat, and talented vocalists will have you singing along to “Make ‘em Laugh” and “Good Morning.”
Curtain time is 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday afternoon. Adult tickets are $15 online here, and kids pay $10 with student ID.
