If you had plans to spend New Year’s Eve at Hamilton Park, you’ll need to go elsewhere.
Dallas Parks and Recreation will close the park early at 6 p.m. on Friday, New Year’s Eve.
At the recommendation of the Dallas Police Department, the park will be closed as a result of prior incidents with fireworks. Robb Stewart, one of the Park board members, supports the police department’s decision, according to the public notice.
Police warrant caution and is working with the marshals and Park Department on an operations plan.
Hamilton Park is set to resume regular hours at 5 a.m. on Jan. 1.
