“The folky track opens with an acoustic guitar and erupts into lush instrumentation,” describes Rolling Stone Magazine. “Directed by Meredith Alloway, the video features Jackson at a masquerade ball, dancing in a Victorian dress as heartbreak ensues.”

The project marks the second time Alloway has collaborated with fellow Wildcat Justin Hamilton, who served as cinematographer on “Let Down.” They created “Deep Tissue” together in 2019 and premiered it at SXSW.

“This song means a lot to me because even though it’s a small part in a much larger story, I poured my heart and soul into it,” Jackson wrote on Instagram. “This song is my baby and I’ve found so much hope and healing through creating this, and I hope it brings joy to others.”

Jackson, known around the world as daughter of King of Pop Michael Jackson, is no stranger to heartbreak. She told Associated Press reps she wrote “Let Down” while processing her breakup with musician boyfriend Gabriel Glenn. “You were my all,” she sings, “and now I fall to the ground.”

This time last year, Alloway was debuting her creepy Hulu horror short film, “Ride,” best described as a “spin class from hell.”
