Lake Highlands Women’s League members received a check from 9Round Friday, funds raised by the boxing workout gym’s 21-Day Health and Wellness Challenge. Over 3 weeks, gym members kickboxed, kettlebell snatched and bag punched their way to health and contributions for LHWL.
This time of year, the league would be gearing up for its traditional Holiday in the Highlands home tour, welcoming hundreds of visitors to 4 neighborhood homes decked out in Christmas finery. COVID canceled the home tour, but the need for funds at community schools and nonprofits serving area families is greater than ever. Donations like 9Round’s will make a difference.
“Since 1969, Lake Highlands Women’s League has been proudly serving this community, its families and individuals through volunteerism,” shared 9Round on social media after the event. “The magnificent work you do provides countless scholarships and support for nonprofit agencies.”
If your civic group, Sunday school class or family would like to assist LHWL and their efforts in Lake Highlands, you may donate here or contact LHWL fundraising chairs Carolyn Murray at cpmurray@sbcglobal.net and Christine Scott at scott-c@sbcglobal.net.
9Round is at 7170 Skillman in the Lake Highlands Town Center between Jersey Mike’s and Banfield Pet Hospital.
