On Tuesday, Dec. 17th, at 12:05 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a 911 call for a structure fire at a condominium complex, located at 8075 Meadow Road.
When firefighters arrived at the location they reported out with smoke showing from a second floor unit. They quickly found the body of an unresponsive, and unidentified, elderly female inside. She was removed her from the building and transferred her to awaiting medics, who immediately transported her to a local hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced dead, said Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.
According to investigators, the fire appears to have begun near the kitchen area, spread vertically to the ceiling and into the attic space where it then spread horizontally.
There were 4 units in the building, resulting in the displacement of at least four people.
The cause of the fire will remain undetermined until such time that the Medical Examiner has made a final ruling on the victim’s cause of death.
